PARO / THIMPHU /PUNAKHA /BUMTHANG

Duration : 7 Nights - 8 Days

Day 01: Fly KTHMANDU - PARO. On arrival at Paro and drive to THIMPHU ( 65 Km - 2 hrs).
Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 : Thimphu: Full day local sight seeing tour.
Visit Zeleukha Nunnery, National Museum, memorial Chorten of His Majesty Late Jigme Dorjee Wangchuk. Stroll down town to the Handicraft Development Corporation which displays all kinds of traditional handicraft products of Bhutan.
Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 : THIMPHU - PUNAKHA : ( 79 Km. - 3 Hrs. approx. )
After breakfast drive over the spectacular Dochula pass(3,100mts) To the warm and fertile valley of Punakha. Visit the historic Punakha Dzong, once the seat of the old capital Bhutan. The magnificent Dzong is sprawled between the Phochu and Mochu rivers.

Day 04 : PUNAKHA- BUMTHANG : (208 km. - 8 hrs. approx.)
Early morning drive to the valley Bumthang through the Yotala Pass(3440 mts) This valley is considered a very sacred place for the Bhutanese with many temples and holy places.
Overnight at Lodge.

Day 05 : BUMTHANG: Full sightseeing.
Drive to Mebartsho(Burning Lake). This gorge is a holy site and pilgrimage place where Guru Rimooche had religious treasure later discovered by Terton Pema Lingpa. Visit the Swiss Farm where you can buy excellent local made cheese. Visit the Jkar Dzong (castle of white bird). Built in 1549 this Dzong houses the administrative center of Bumthang, Kurjey Lhakang - most sacred and popular monastery in Bumthang.

Day 06 : BUMTHANG - THIMPHU (269 km.- 8 hrs. approx.)
Early morning drive to Thimphu via Tongsa and Wangdiphododrang.
Overnight at Hotel.

Day 07 : THIMPHU - PARO (65 km - 2 hrs)
Visit Drukgyel Dzong/Keychu Lhakang & The National Museum. Excursion to Taktsang Lhakang.
Overnight at Hotel.

Day 08 : Drive to airport for your onward flight.
