LUMBINI - THE SACRED GARDEN

Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha 623 B.C and in southwest from Kathmandu is a holy place for Buddhists all over the world. It has the remains of many of the ancient stupas and monasteries. The Ashokan erected in 249 BC bears an inscription about the birth of the Buddha

DURATION / TOUR CODE : 3 days / WTT3D/LUM-EX

DAY 01 : Today you will be met by one of the Worldways representatives who arranges your drive from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa(Lumbini)- about 310 kms. ( 9 hours drive ).
PM : Visit the monasteries in the Lumbini.
Overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 02 : Breakfast at the hotel.
Fullday tour of Tilaurakot. Lying 27 km. West of Limbini, Tilaurakot has the ruins of ancient Kapilavastu, the capital of the Sakya Kingdom where the Buddha spent his youth as Prince Siddhartha. Enroute you may visit Niglihawa and Githihawa where there are broken Ashoka Pillars and othe r ancient relics.
After the excursion of the area, drive back to Lumbini.
Overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 03 : Breakfast at Hotel. Once again, short exploration of the area.
Later you will drive to Kathmandu. You may stop for lunch enroute.
